Publication Process
- Manuscript Submission
- Authors submit articles through the Open Journal System (OJS) of Jurnal Realitas Sosial
- Manuscripts must conform to the Journal's template and adhere to author guidelines.
- The editor reviews manuscripts for initial formatting to ensure completeness of administrative and technical requirements.
- Initial Screening
- The editor checks for originality using Turnitin (maximum 25% similarity).
- Manuscripts that do not meet the Journal's scope will be rejected outright (desk rejection).
- Peer Reviewer Assignment
- Manuscripts that pass the initial review are sent to at least two mitra bestari (peer reviewers) for double-blind review.
- The reviewers are from outside the author's affiliation and have expertise relevant to the article's field.
- Peer Review Process
- Reviewers assess aspects of novelty, relevance, methodology, data validity, and theoretical and practical contributions.
- Assessments are given in the following forms:
- Accepted without revision
- Minor revision
- Major revision
- Rejected
- Editorial Decision
- Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editor decides whether to accept, request revisions, or reject the submission.
- If revisions are made, the author is given a specific time (usually 2–3 weeks) to complete them.
- Final Checking and Layout
- After the revisions are received, the editor checks that they align with the reviewers' input.
- Successful manuscripts are checked for grammar (language editing), layout (template conformity), and bibliography.
- The article is then prepared for final layout.
- Proofreading and Final Approval
- The author will receive a proof (final layout copy) for review.
- The author must provide final approval before the article is published.
- Online Publication
- Articles are published online on the Jurnal Realitas Sosial (OJS) website.
